In 2007 and 2008, much of the industrialized world entered into a deep recession.^[2][3] Contributors to this downturn included high oil prices, high food prices, the collapse of a substantial housing bubble which sparked an interrelated credit crisis. Many large and well established investment banks as well as commercial banks in many nations around the world suffered massive losses and even faced bankruptcy. It was argued that huge increases in commodity and asset prices came as a consequence of an extended period of easily available credit and the primary cause of the downturn was exceptionally financial.^[4] This crisis has led to increased unemployment, and other signs of contemporaneous economic downturns in major economies of the world.

In December 2008, the NBER declared that the United States had been in recession since December 2007, and several economists expressed their concern that there is no end in sight for the downturn.^[5] The recession could be the worst since the Great Depression of the 1930s.^[6][7]

KUALA TERENGGANU: Under-wear off – that is one of the conditions for guys who want to attend a mega sex party on New Year’s Eve that is scheduled to be held in Johor Baru.

The second condition is that girls must wear only G-string panties and be prepared to take them off after midnight to usher in the new year.

It is learnt that invitations enclosed in New Year greeting cards are being distributed here. Upon opening the greeting card, there is a note with this statement: “Are you below 40? If you are, then browse this web address and you won’t regret it.”

On the website are three handphone numbers for those who want to attend the sex party to contact. The Star managed to get in touch with one of the contact persons and the woman who answered the call identified herself as Ida.

She claimed to be the organiser of the sex party and she expected 350 revellers to attend the event.

Ida then demanded a deposit of RM250 as entrance fee for each participant and the amount had to be banked into her account number.

“Are you a male? Don’t worry, we have 200-over women there for you, including those from Batam (Indonesia) but you must be prepared to go naked, you know,” she said. Ida said there were also several female students from colleges in Kuala Lumpur and Malacca who had confirmed their attendance.

“We need more males for the party. We are short of men. Don’t worry about partners, there will be plenty of them on that night,” she said. When asked about the venue of the party, Ida replied, “You bank in RM100 first, we will send all the details. The balance must be deposited before we confirm your name.

“We will prepare the liquor and accommodation but you have to pay separately for these, but they will cost only a nominal sum,” she said.

Ida also divulged that the party would be held at a secluded area fronting the beach and gave an assurance that there would be scouts stationed at all entry points to the venue to alert the revellers in case there is a raid.

“The party will go on all night long, and you are free to do whatever you wish to do,” she said. Ida also recommended that guys should bring along condoms.

For many of us our pets are like our children and just like any other parent we can't imagine going on vacation without our pets. Luckily, there are over 40,000 pet friendly resorts around the world that let you bring your furry friend with you.

There are some things that you need to consider before heading to a pet friendly resort. Because it is pet friendly, other dogs have been there. If your dog is sensitive to the smells of other dogs, take along blankets from home so that they can sleep and nap among familiar smells. Ask if your pet is allowed on all parts of the property or if they have areas designated for dogs. Follow those rules as their might be people traveling without pets who don't want doggy kisses while they are sunbathing.

What can you expect to find at a pet friendly resort? Many of the resorts are just like any other hotel except they allow dogs to be in the room with you. You will have to provide food and other necessities for your dog. However, some pet friendly resorts cater to pooches. They might have their own bed, their own menu filled with doggy treats and areas at the resort that are strictly for pets to play such as a pet park. There might be someone on staff who can walk your dog and take them to potty if you have to go somewhere that does not allow dogs. While you are gone they shouldn't be bored as some resorts have movies for dogs or TV channels for dogs.

Whether you want to travel overseas, the beach, the mountains or the next state you should be able to find a pet friendly resort so that your four legged children can vacation with you. If you want to stay at a place that isn't on the list of pet friendly resorts, call and ask them if they accept pets. Some resorts have a couple of rooms that they just use for guests with pets even though they don't advertise this. So, pack your pooch's bag because wherever you go he will be going with you.

Pet Strollers

Pet Stollers .... what is a Pet Stroller ? ...... and do Pets really need a Stoller?? .....

Strollers have gone to the dogs. Is this really necessary? Shouldn't dogs be walking next to us on a leash? Yes and no. While there will always be people who wouldn't be caught dead pushing their dog in a stroller, there are some compelling reasons and particular situations in which a stroller is a great idea.

There are:

• Injuries. Pets get injuries that make a stroller a perfect way of taking your pet out or to the vet without compromising their recovery.

• Big events. Taking small dogs to big events: parades, festivals, etc. can be overwhelming. Strollers give dogs and people their own personal space. Keeping pets and people safe and happy.

• Exercise. If you are a runner and you have a small dog a jogging stroller can allow you to include your pet on longer runs. Or if you own one big dog and one small dog, a pet stroller allows you to include both of your pets on your walk or run.

• Shopping. There are various reasons for including a pet stroller on a shopping excursion. With a stroller there are usually places to put extras like wallets, purses or even small purchases on the stroller. Also your pet is contained and more likely to be tolerated in a store or at a farmers market if the merchants know the pet is contained and not going to make a mess on their floor.

• Control. If your pet is in a stroller they will not be approaching people who may not like pets and conversely people will not be as likely to pet or handle your dog without your permission.

• Fun. If you are a dog lover taking your pet out in a pet stroller is just plain fun! So to the naysayers who find the pet stroller ridiculous-get a real problem!

Aid For Pets left in Volcanic Eruption

SANTIAGO - Help is on the way for hundreds of household pets left behind in the wake of a volcano eruption in southern Chile, an animal welfare group said.

The Coalition for Ethical Control of Urban Fauna, which has been critical of the Government's attention to stranded animals, said the Emergency Bureau offered to carry food to pets in Chaiten, a town 10km from the volcano of the same name.

An estimated 450 dogs and 350 cats were left when the town's residents were evacuated after the initial May 2 eruption, the volcano's first in thousands of years.

At a demonstration in Santiago, Alejandra Cassino, the group's representative said: "They asked us to bring food for the pets, and police and soldiers would feed the animals."

The group is lobbying for access and time to save the animals.

Pets will no longer fly with cargo

OTTAWA -- Pets travelling on Air Canada are being bumped up from cargo to checked baggage starting Sunday, as the window closes to appeal a tribunal ruling that deemed the cargo rule unreasonable for pet owners.

Air Canada is quietly making the change one day before it is required by law to reverse its pet policy, instituted last June. The change relegated pets weighing less than 70 pounds to cargo, giving them lower priority than baggage and mail.

But on the eve of the policy change, the airline had yet to change its online promotional materials and continued to tell customers that their pets could only fly cargo.

Trip To The Veterinary (Casey and Peanut's Scheduled Pet Check Up)

It's time for Casey and Peanut's routine Health Check - Up.

We are trying a new Vet at Rock Road Kuching. It's Peanut's first time visiting this particular Vet Doctor, while Casey is a regular at Vetinary Clinics. Peanut is now 1.5 years old while Casey is 2.5 years old.

At first, Casey and Peanut had no idea that there were going to the Vet Clinic. They though it was a regular Car Ride, which they enjoy very much ....

Whenever, we go for car rides, Casey would always look out the window, while Peanut would normally Sleep or take a short nap ......

Peanut had no ideas that we were bringing her to the Vet ..... she enters happily and took the lead confidently ......

Casey had sense that soething were not right .... she refuses to enter and so daddy had to carry her in .......

When we carry Peanut up the exmination table .... she started to feel frighten and was calculating her options ....... hmmmm its rather high ... even for a Spiderman Dog like Peanut

Seeing that, there's no where else to go .... she decided to give in and calmed down as we stayed by her side to comfort her ....

Finally .... the examination was over and both Casey and Peanut had their Heartworm, Parasite Control / Deworming Injections .... and fleas / tick checks too ....

.... our babies ... can't wait to go home after the jabs .... :)

Can this be Real ....... !! ???

Is it true that there may be a so called "Disneyland" in our very own backyard? .... somewhere in Malaysia .... possibly in Sarawak .... perhaps in Kuching ....... ???? !!!!


We present to you ..... Disini Land .... sounds like Disney Land huh ..... ?? !!!! hehehe (we had the previlage to be invited there by one of the relatives of the owner during Hari Raya break).

Infact, "Disneyland" or better known as "Disiniland" is located in a hidden and secluded place inside Batu Kawa, Kuching.

It is priviately own & built, but opened to the public as well for a fee depending of the nature of activity.

So, what is it anyway? .... is it a Themepark? ... Lake? ... Zoo?, ...Swimming Pool? or Park ....... ????

It"s Raining Like Casey and Peanut in KLCC

Wow .... its Monday morning .... 9.00 am (October 1, 2007) and its a wet morning ...... Its raining casey and peanut here ...., its like It's raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock ......

On our way to KLCC Convention Center this morning, we had to run like The Raiders of The Lost Bark to find shelter from the rain.

One more day in KL, we love it, but miss Kuching and our Pets already ........

Sarawak Radio Control and Model Craft Association Outing at Sematan Palm Beach Resort

August 31st 2007, (Malaysia 50th National Day) The Sarawak Radio Control and Model Craft Association held an Outing and Flying Event at Sematan Palm Beach Resort.

Des and myself decided to take a break to cool off as we all had a rough week at work (a colleague just [passed away].

We did not know there were events going on at Sematan Palm Beach Resort ..... but during the Merdeka Weekend, it was packed with events and people ..... it help lifted our down spirit.....

Sematan Palm Beach Resort reminded us of Krabi Island Thailand where we stayed at Sheraton Resort, Krabi Island, Thailand.

When we reached there, we had the whole beach to ourselves as we were one of the earliest...

Beautiful and quiet Sematan Palm Beach Resort....

Towards the evening around 6p.m when its cooler, many visitors come out to enjoy the beautiful of the beach and the wonderful sunset....

Sematan Palm Beach Resort is well taken care off and the is well complimented by its wondeful nature....

The sunset is wonderful .... but our camera phone could not do justice to capture its radiance ...

It was raining rather heavily on August 31st, 2007. We were having our breakfast around 8.30am when we heard that a private plane will land at Sematan Palm Beach Resort around 10.00am .... wow that's really exciting .... first time for us

Despite the rain, many people (mostly form the Sarawak Radio Control Association Members) took the opportunity to check out the plane and take photos

If you can see the tyre track, that's the runway for the plane to take off and land..

After that, the Sarawak Radio Control and Model Craft Association Started their event at around 1.30pm, after the rain had stopped and the sand had dried... (The sign did say ... FLY at Your Own Risk :)

This is one of the most senior member, he is about 70+ years old but one of the most energetic and enthusiastic about the event .... he has one of the biggest Radio Control Model Plane as well ...
