Pet Air Cleaner---5 Things It Should Be Able To Eliminate

A warm-blooded pet such as a dog, cat, bird,
ferret, or bunny can add a whole new dimension
to your life. But they can often add a lot of
unwanted problems as well. A good air purifier
for pets needs to be able to clear away these
top 5 issues for pet owners.

Odor---Pets bring so much to a home that it's
easy for those who love them to overlook the
smell that they can sometimes bring. This smell
can be caused by a romp in something that's less
than pleasing to the nose, and it can be caused
by sebum.

Sebum is oil that is produced by the sebaceous
gland to keep skin and hair from becoming overly
dry. This oil gets on rugs, floors, and furniture
and can cause a persistent smell. When you've had
a pet for years, it is really hard to completely
clean the smell because there are so many
possible places for it to be.

Filtering the air with a carbon filter is a low
maintenance and effective if it can be
continuous. Continually cleaning the air will
mean that guests won't know you have a pet until
they see it.

Urine Issues---Inappropriate elimination or
peeing where they shouldn't is something that
99% of pets do at some time in their lives.
Health, behavioral, and dominance issues can all
contribute to continued mistakes in your home.
And once urine smell has penetrated floors,
carpet and walls, it can be nearly impossible to
eliminate without a major redo of your home.

Ammonia is the chemical that makes this smell
such an eye-stinging event. It can literally
take you breath away and is impossible for
others who visit your home to ignore. A carbon
filter with a special additive to help absorb
the ammonia is crucial to being able to keep the
air fresh whether you are at home or away.

Hair---Have you ever been sitting quietly when
the heat or air condition fan comes on only to
notice a huge puff of pet hair gently floating
to the ground? It's one thing to have that
happen when you're home alone, it's quite
another to have it happen in front of family and
friends who are not particularly enamored with
animals---especially those allowed in the house.

Filtering the big particles is important not
just because it will make your home look better,
but also because a lot of smaller particles like
bacteria and viruses attach to them to move from
one host to another. So by eliminating the big
particulates in the air, you also get a lot of
the microscopic ones as well.

These big particles that can be seen are easily
eliminated by pre-filters that are fairly
inexpensive, but are designed to trap the stuff
you can see in your air. Usually made of a
cotton-ball like material, they will help your
home make a great first impression every time.

Dander---This is a microscopic size allergen
that can make grown men cry if they are at all
sensitive to it. The protein in these
invisible-to-the-human-eye particles is potent.
It can cause symptoms such as watering eyes
(tears), coughing, congestion, runny nose, and a
throat that feels like it is closing.

As unpleasant as these symptoms are, this is the
body's way of trying to flush out what it
perceives as a harmful substance. Keeping the
dander count down is a no-kidding necessity if
those who suffer with allergy, asthma, and other
respiratory conditions will even be able to
tolerate a warm-blooded pet.

Everything Else---If you have a pet that goes
inside and out, you can count on it to bring
other pollutants into your home. They generally
hitch a ride in their fur and include pollen,
mold and mildew spores, and just plain old dust.
When they shake to get pretty again, your air
then has all of those things floating around in
it.
