To Have Happier Walks, Consider Safety Dog Collars!

Dog collars are like fashion statement for your
pet. They look very appealing to wear. They come
in different sizes, styles, designs and colors.
As a matter of fact, this is not new to dog
owners anymore, since a lot of them have made it
a habit to collect such item. Whether they buy it
online or from their traditional stores, the
point is to improve their pooch's behavior.

Why is there improving behavior anyway?

Dog collars functions as a behavioral training
aside from being a total fashion statement for
your dog.

What you need to know

If the collar's size, weight and total fitness
go well with your dog, it tends to behave
properly.. But, when your dog is showing
inappropriate behaviors like pulling while on a
leash, this means that it needs a different type
of collar. As mentioned previously there are a
lot of designs and styles of dog collars and it
depends on the fitness and well-being of your
dog.

Dog collar types

1. Head collar - This is also known as a halter.
With this, the owner will have total control of
the dog since the collar itself has a special
"bridle-like" strap to secure the dog's head.
The owner can stop the pooch from pulling as
they walking because the collar itself rests on
the dog's head and this will make it turn back
and stop.

2. Chain-slip dog collar - This is intended for
hard dog pullers. When being compared to
harnesses or halters, this type is made of
steel. Therefore, owners should practice extra
care. Chain-slip dog collar should not be used
as a replacement for the usual collar which your
dog uses every day. Furthermore, checking with a
professional is important before using it since
it should be used with a specific "pull-stop
method". If you do not know of this method, you
put your pet at risk of injury..

Other methods of training

The harness is one special type of dog
training. This is not a total "collar" but it
can function like one.. This is extremely useful
for dog owners who had difficulty dealing with
the halter collars. The harness does give full
control of the dog's head. The straps are well
rested and secure in the fore parts of your
dog's upper trunk. As a result, your dog will
not suffer from neck strains. The harness is one
of the cheap pet supplies and can be found
throughout your country, either online or
offline at low prices.

Pulling pooch needs proper professional
training. Arm yourself with the right knowledge
and accurate skills on its usage. Sooner or
later, you will have a smoother walk with your
pooch without having pulls.
