This dog is well known for its intelligent. Although it can be fierce towards strangers, it is very friendly to those it knows. Ensure that the seller is professional. Ask for certificates of registration. The Kennel Club offers breeders the opportunity to have their breeds tested and the genetic composition recorded. This way, you will be able to determine the parents of the pups and know whether they are pedigree. Lack of any documentation is an indication of unprofessionalism.

Ask if the seller provides guarantee. Many people have bought pets only to realize that they were carrying certain diseases weeks later. This many happen if the animal was not properly vaccinated or some medications required at certain stages were not given. In case, the pup falls sick within a specified period, then you should get you money back.

Check whether the breeder is registered with an organization. Many of these businesses are members of the Kennel Club. However, there are also specialized groups such as the North American Kai Association. These memberships are in themselves proof of professionalism.

You should be well prepared before you buy a pup. Get a lot of information about local breeders so that you can pick the right one. If you know someone who ones a Kai breed, talk to him or her and find out if they can refer you to the breeder where they bought their dog.
