By Michelle Gibson

Now you have decided to have a domestic cat, either for the first time or as a behavior. It is important therefore that you are well guided to make sure that you choose the best young cat that you desire. The following factors will help you in selecting the best North Carolina Ragdoll kittens to domesticate.

Health, consider taking the cat to a veterinary specialist who will examine the health of your cat. You can also do examinations on the cat based on its appearance of the body parts such as ears, eyes, nose hair and other parts that may contain symptoms of an unhealthy cat. By doing this, you ensure that the cat you are choosing is safe from infections and do not pose serious issues to you too.

Personality. This marks the most significant part to put into consideration in choosing a young cat. It determines how well and eases it can be domesticated with. Friendly ones are easy to play with and easy to keep around your house. Cats can be so frustrating if their personalities are weird. Their behaviors are easy to predict because the cat is either sleeping or very active. Playful cats are so enjoyable and therefore ensure these character behaviors are present before deciding on any cat.

The family on which the cat is reared and born in determines its behavior. An orphan cat lacks role models and teachers for good practices. The family teaches them on the best acceptable practices that make domestication easy. Hence ensure that you pick a cat that has a family.

Early social behavior. The exposure of a cat at early development determine the behavior of a cat. Consider choosing a cat that has been reared in the house to ensure its familiarity with the home activities. When you bring it to your house, it should not fear the noises that are produced by indoor appliances. The cat that has been exposed to many people and has been handled well in the early life becomes easy to domesticate.

Parents and siblings, it is not easy to determine the behavior of the cat before it is old enough. This means that you can quickly make misconceptions on its behavior especially on early stages of development. It is therefore important that you choose the one that you know its family members such as siblings and parents because they tend to have behavioral similarities.

Age. Age determines both the health and the behavior of the feline. The kitty should be allowed enough time with family to learn the favorite characters. Family defines the behavior and the more it stays together with its family members, the more it becomes acquitted to the necessary characteristics. The cat that is at least nine months of age will have finished suckling and hence independent.

Hair length, Shedding may be very stressful for the feline owner. You can choose the one with your favorite color to make it easy. The darling may be chosen to matches the color of your house furniture. This will make the shed hairs invisible hence less stressful. The length of the hair determines the rate of shedding. Therefore ensure that you choose the appropriate hair that fits your personality. The hair is short, long or medium.

Gender. When choosing a cat to ensure that the gender matches your desire, female cats tend to give birth, and this means more economy. Consider if you can take care of many kittens before selecting a female cat. If you do not have enough space and finances for many cats, then consider adopting a male one.
