Most Goldendoodles respond well to training. They are smart and eager to please. Early socialization is important for these animals, as it is for all dogs. Without it they may become shy and withdrawn. Goldendoodles need daily exercise, but can be content with a thirty minute walk. They aren't apartment dogs however. These animals need plenty of room to play.

These are not high maintenance dogs when it comes to grooming. They have curly coats that rarely shed. Combing them once every week or so is usually sufficient. Some owners keep their pets clipped to reduce grooming even more. They only need an occasional bath. An excess of water and soap will dry their skin out.

Like all dogs, Goldendoodles are prone to certain conditions and diseases. The best assurance you can have is a health clearance for the parents. This will prove that they were tested for certain conditions and cleared. The most common conditions you will find in these dogs are allergies, ear infections, eye disease, and hip dysplasia.

All pets are big responsibilities. You shouldn't take a puppy or kitten home on a whim. It's important, for you and your pet, to carefully consider whether or not you are ready to make a long term commitment.
