For Good Animal Rescue Bandon Offers A Recommendable Destination

By Matthew Butler

Animals are an important part of the ecosystem in the same way trees are. Without animals, very many drastic events would happen in the planet and human beings would be on the losing side. Because of the need for man to relate with the environment, domestication started to happen. Today, there are several animals that were once considered wild, but are now living with people in the comfort of their homes. When in need of Animal rescue Bandon should be visited.

Nevertheless, both domestic and wild animals face many threats from the activities of humans. For example, in the US, millions of animals which are domestic roam in the streets because they lack homes. In the same way, the habitats of many wild animals have been destroyed, leaving them homeless. By animals being homeless, they get exposed to the threat of death and if this is left to go on for long enough, several species could become extinct.

In the US only, around 5 to 7 million companion pets are taken to animal shelters since they have no permanent homes. The most shocking thing is that between 3 and 4 million dogs and cats are euthanized each year since no one is there to adopt them. Unluckily, the US taxpayer incurs a cost of about 2 billion dollars on catching, sheltering, euthanizing, and lastly disposing millions of animals annually.

The number of animals that are homeless is more than that of homeless individuals by a factor of 5 to 1. Pets ending up in shelter homes are given up by either their owners or they are found by animal control. It is indicated by research that over 20 percent of all individuals who leave animals in shelters also had them adopted from shelters. And it is only 25 percent of dogs that get admitted to local shelters.

The task of catching and eliminating stray animals from streets is done by animal rescue groups. Nevertheless, they do not offer the animals they have best care since they have insufficient resources. Some shelters are funded only by well-wishers. This limits their funding, something that makes them to provide poor shelter and care for animals found.

The US has very many animal rescue groups that operate within various states. Some of these rescue groups are specialize in the kind of animal breeds they take in while others accept all breeds and types of animals. For instance, there are rescue groups for German Shepherds, Labrador retrievers, ragdolls, Egyptian maus, Siberian cats, and reptiles among many others.

Other groups specialize in saving and rescuing wild animals from getting extinct. For example, many animals have been put into danger of being extinct by their habitats being modified or destroyed as a result of human encroachment. An example of an animal facing this problem is the polar bear. Very many reports of encounters with polar bear are reported while they migrate far from their natural habitats.

These encounters put both bear and man in danger with each other. As a result, bear population is reducing drastically and if efforts are not taken to save them, they may die off. As such, there are rescue groups that have been established to rescue bear and provide them a home and food.
