Animal Hall of Fame - For Five Dogs That Saved Lives

Five canines were all top dog as the Purina Animal Hall of Fame announced this year's inductees.

Corey, a miniature schnauzer, dragged his owner, Jay Sobel of Toronto, down the street tracking a faint voice in distress, and located an 80-year-old man who had fallen into freezing water while inspecting his swimming pool before the season started.

Peeka, a Lhasa Apso poodle in Saskatoon, whined and barked to alert her owners, Ed and Lee Anderson, that a newborn baby wrapped in a blanket had been left on their porch in -29 C weather.

A German shepherd named Freddie pulled his owner, Mike Hambling, out of frigid water when Hambling fell through the ice near the family cottage in Coldwater, Ont.

And Maggie May, a Wheaton terrier in Winnipeg, woke up her owner, Suann DeCourcey, to alert her that the carbon monoxide detector was going off.
