Successful Dog Training

By Donald T. Mihajlov

The most important thing when we turn on the subject of dog training is to be consistent in all you do. The basics on dog training methods are simple enough for all dog owners to pay attention to. Dog training has the objection to educate your dog to be capable to communicate and respond to you and your instructions.

How unwavering you act as a "pack leader" will determine your success in your dog's training efforts. Training your dog is not at all such a demanding effort if you repeat the same clear and uncomplicated commands and focus the attention on the desired actions you want your dog to perform. In the event where the dog act in the right and well-behaved manner, a reward is always a good idea to encourage future good behavior.

Your behavior will influence the way your dog reacts in a large way. As with the most things in life, in order to receive a positive response, you need to act with a positive and constructive attitude towards your dog, in order for him to act favorable towards his training.

The intonation of your voice must serve to signal your satisfaction or dissatisfaction towards the dog's conduct. A firm tone of voice will indicate wrong or unacceptable conduct and when you talk excitedly in a pleasant tone will create the impression that he conducted himself well and in a right way.

In general, dogs will react better towards short and plain commands and more so in short but fun filled, yet demanding training sessions. Executing your training this way, will ensure that your best friend enjoys his training and react favorable to your instructions.

While in the training process, reward your dog for his obedience to your commands. Rewards can take on the form of nibbles or chunks of treats or even play.

More importantly, when the training period is over, make sure to conclude the day's training on a positive way. Make your approval known and reward your dog. This will encourage your dog to act and behave in that desired manner consistently.
