extinct Tweed Water Spaniel. Crossing the
offspring with the Bloodhound, Irish Setter, and
Tweed Water Spaniel again resulted in the Golden
Retriever.

Temperament: The Golden Retriever is not only
renowned for its intelligence and trainability,
but also for its extreme good nature. The Golden
Retriever is not a dog that attaches itself to
one person, they tend to be friendly and
companionable with almost everyone. These dogs
are very good with children, although it is
sometimes said that the Golden Retriever needs to
be protected from its young human friends. The
ease of training and wonderful disposition of the
