Dog Training With Simple Tools And Items

By Gregory Graham

One of the most difficult things to do on your own is to actually train your dog to do things the way you wanted them to. This is despite the fact that your dog actually wanted to please you the best way they can, and this is only because they do not fully understand what you really want them to do, not to mention that dogs usually have very short attention span. With all these factors in mind, it is no doubt a difficult thing to do when you are trying to behavior train your dog, however before you quit, consider some of these basic training aids to help you.

Punishing your dog every single time they do not perform what you ask of them is actually the worst way to go about dog training, especially when you are trying to induce certain behavior in them. As such, why not consider setting up a reward system instead? This way your dog will view that certain behavior are more favorable because of the reward they receive each time, and will be positively reinforced to perform the same type of behavior in order to get the reward! Just make sure that you are not setting up an impossible task to achieve for your pet.

If you are more of a tools and items guy when it comes to training your dog, then be sure to only use ones that have been proven successful by previous owners when it comes to training your dog. Choke collars, chains are usually ineffective and can be considered as downright abusive when it comes to training your dog, as such consider having a sturdy collar and a good leash as all you need to do is to give your dog a slight reminder by a tug instead of the choke collar when you want them to stop barking.

You will also find others training aids such as toys and grooming brush for your pet, and this can be a very enjoyable and effective way to train your dog. Couple these tools in your reward models and you will find that your dog too enjoy a little fun and games, aside from just snacks.

The best way to view your dog training is to actually view is as a bonding session more than just a boot camp training for your dog, owning a dog and gaining it's affection and loyalty is every bit as important as trying to get them to do the exact things that you want from them.
