Diseases in dogs are considered a major health risk due to the level contraction and the severity of the disease. Dog health revolves around factors such as disease, exercise and proper feeding habits. Precautionary measures such as vaccinations and a preplanned diet are quintessential for any dog's health. A Dog's health is constantly at risk due to the over exposure during playing walking. Many diseases are also transmitted through urine and feces. Many owners prefer to give left over meals to their pets this habit should be restricted as it may cause obesity and food poisoning. Pedigree dogs are more at risk than adopted strays and other common breeds. Many diseases are highly infectious and may incur fatalities if proper medical care is not sought.

Regular practices are the key to a healthy lifestyle. Punctuality with meals and exercise will help keep your dog from becoming erratic and over energetic. Hygiene should be a high priority and regular baths with medicated shampoo must be used. Many diseases can be prevented with careful planning and good local vet. Many dogs have a high amount of energy and therefore exercises such as walking or jogging are perfect for dispensing pent up energy.

Gastrointestinal, eye diseases and other common diseases are seen regularly in many dogs and can have a serious impact on dog health if not treated early. Such conditions as rabies are fatal and can prove to be extremely dangerous on contraction. Another vector for many diseases is stray animals such as cats and birds. It is vital to know what your pet may be up to.

Vaccinations are given during the initial six months. Some of the important vaccinations are rabies, distemper and hepatitis. These vaccinations must be given with intervals in between to prevent trauma to the dog.

The diet of a pet is critical point in any dog's health. The diet is dependent on age, size and level of activity. It is most important to look out for any irregularities and allergies in behavior to certain foods. Many owners refer to their local vet for advice in these situations.

Reproductive health can generally lead to many problems such hormonal changes and aggressive behaviors. Dog owners who have no intention of breeding should consider neutering their pets to prevent these side effects. However it is recommend that female dogs have at least one litter before neutering as to prevent cancers and tumors.
