Article From SubmitYOURArticle.com: Dog Treats: Things to Avoid Thay May Harm Your Dog
It is fun making your own dog foods at home.
However, there are certain things that one should
avoid since they could pose some serious harm to
your dog. Most of these treats do not really take
so much time to prepare and are stored in the
refrigerator. Fresh ones are much healthier than
the baked variety. When preparing them, here are
some things to remember when preparing food for
your dog.
Do not cook them in the microwave. Exposing them
to the heat of the microwave will destroy the
essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals in
the food. The radiation coming from the microwave
is also going to alter the structure of the food
cells. Studies conducted by scientists showed
that humans who consumed microwave-cooked foods,
experience significant and disturbing changes in
their blood structure. Using the microwave for
food preparation had caused several serious
side-effects, one of which is the conversion of
available minerals in vegetables into
cancer-causing free-radicals.
Do not use broth cubes in their foods. Some
recipes had advocated the use of beef or chicken
bouillon cubes, or canned chicken and beef
broths. These kinds of ingredients contain a high
level of sodium which is unhealthy not just for
humans, but for dogs as well. So, if you want to
use some bouillon, you should instead make your
own from chicken or beef broth.
Choose your flour correctly. Flour, is an
important ingredient in making biscuits. It helps
bind the biscuits together. When making these,
you can substitute white, cornmeal, or wheat
flours with spelt flour. This kind of flour is
easier for your dog's digestion, and for humans,
too. Cornmeal and wheat are a bit harder to
digest and may trigger some allergic reactions in
your dog.
Strive for serving your dog uncooked and natural
treats. Choose those treats which are not baked
or those that make use of cornmeal and wheat
flour. In most cases, healthy people who try to
cook healthful food s for themselves will, by
default, have the correct foods on hand with
which to make these healthy dog treats for their
pets.
There are many varieties of available dog treats
in the market today. You can buy dog treat
recipes and make some that will last for days.
They are available in different types depending
upon your dog's needs. There are numerous recipes
that could suit your hungry dog!
