The Perfect Size of Kennel You Get for Your Pet Dog

Now that you have realized that your puppy is no longer little in size, you might be thinking of getting a dog kennel for your growing puppy. Read along this article and you will find out some factors to consider when purchasing a new home for your pet.

The size of the dog kennel is the primary concern for dog owners. They would want their pets to be comfortable as much as possible and never feel too cramped up inside their new homes. Too spacious area is also not advisable for most dogs.

For you to know what perfect type of kennel to get for your dog, find out first the purpose of such dog kennel you are having and where is it going to be used. Will you have the stationary kennel or the kennel for traveling?

For traveling purposes, large dog kennel enough for the dog to stand, turn around and lie down is perfect. If you observe that the dog can do the said activities and movements, then they are considered to be happy and satisfied.

Dog Kennels, Dog Crates, and Dog Houses

Before you decide on what kennel type and size you purchase, you must have an idea what you are looking for and the difference of each type. Dog kennels are large cages, about 5 by 10 feet, and has a cage around it. Some people call it a dog run but some still consider it larger than the dog kennel. A portable kennel is smaller in size; you can imagine a small box with dog inside with this type of cage.

Most likely dog crate serve the same purpose as the dog kennel. Both can be used interchangeably and people don't see any difference between the two.

Dog houses are dog crates that are well-groomed in such a way that it will look and feel more of a home type than just an enclosure. Some examples are the dog igloos and dog cabins.

There are other factors you need to consider too such as size of the dog, level of activity and waste habits.

A large dog will need a large kennel. It will also depend on the yard space you have. Dog's waste habits need to be considered so that your pet won't feed, sleep and play with its own wastes.
