Rabbit Housing Project - 7 Easy To Follow Steps To Help You Build Your Own Rabbit House

Are you planning on building a rabbit house for
your pet rabbit or for a bunch of rabbits? You
don't need to sweat on it too much if you are
just starting out on keeping rabbits. Just
follow these simple steps and you'll have that
rabbit housing ready for your little friend at
the end of the day. The project itself takes
about 2-4 hours to finish unless you are to make
a bigger hutch. Here are the things you need to
have for your project:

- 2x2 lumber wood
- Plywood
- Mesh wire
- Hardware cloth
- Saw, hammer, ½-1 inch nails, deck
screws
- Fencing staples
- Wood glue
- Hinges
- Paint (optional)

Before you start hammering away, take a look at
the few steps you need to consider in making a
rabbit housing. It's important that you follow
these chronologically without hesitations.

Step 1: Illustrate or draw out a plan that you
can follow. A plan is very helpful in minimizing
work time and keeps you going. This plan will be
your guide as to how and what the rabbit housing
will look like. Write down the measurements of
each side and corner. This will only take you a
few minutes so pour out your idea on that piece
of paper!

Step 2: Prepare your work space. It would be
better if your work space is outside your home.
All the materials must be around you so you can
reach for them easily if you are working alone.

Step 3: Lay down the 2x2 lumber on the floor or
the ground and mark it according to the
measurement you prefer. Cut the 2x2 lumber for
the rabbit housing frame. You can make a frame
that's up to 8 feet if you have more than 2
rabbits. Lay the lumber down on the ground of
your work area. Fasten the corners of the frame.
You can use deck screws or nails and reinforce it
with wood glue if you so wishes.

Step 4: If the base frame is already done, put
hinges on the top frame. This will be the door
for the rabbit or rabbits. Be sure that the
measurement of the frame is deep enough and wide
enough for the rabbit to run in.

Step 5: Enclose the frame. Cut the plywood
according to the desired measurement you have.
Be sure that you have enough to cover all area.

Step 6: Spread the mesh wire and hardware cloth
and nail them together to the frame. Use fencing
staples to keep them in place.

Step 7: Once the Hutch is finished you can paint
it with any color you like. Let the rabbit
housing dry with its door exposed.

So there you have it, a wide hutch for your pet
rabbit. No need to worry about your little furry
friend when it runs around the house. It can
already enjoy and hop around its new rabbit
housing safe from harm.
