More Fly Tying Materials Than You Could Ever Imagine

There are so many fly tying materials accessible
to every single fly tier whether beginner or
expert. The options are actually countless.
Targeting fish by enticing them with an
attractive fly is your main goal when fly tying.
Regardless of what you are attempting to make
when you tie a fly, you will not have a shortage
of necessary materials. You certainly will never
be able to say that you could not make what you
wanted because the materials were simply not
available.

There are multitudes of different types of
feathers, and you probably will not even
recognize the names of many of them. But you
should definitely know what you are looking at
when you find rooster or peacock feathers. Some
of the different kinds of feathers will be
completely natural or dyed while others may be
synthetic.

Amongst all the additional types of fly tying
materials that you will find are fly tying
beads. You can purchase beads that are shaped
like fish heads, eyes or bodies and they will
come in a variety of different sizes and colors.
Plastic, tungsten, lead and brass are only some
of the materials that may be used to make all of
these beads.

There are so many different kinds of tinsels,
threads, wires and flosses that you will
probably have trouble finding your way out of
the sea of colors. You can find these in a
multitude of different colors too, including
each color on the rainbow, pearlescent and
metallic colors. Sadly, you will need to find
your way through all of these colors because you
will not be able to just take the thread from a
sewing kit. The weight of the threads will
differ, as well as the kinds of materials that
they are made from. You will also notice that
threads are available in both waxed and unwaxed
varieties. The unwaxed ones will add a little
more work for you because you will need to add
the wax before you can utilize it.

If you do not think the amount of fly tying
materials that are obtainable is enough, just
wait until you see how many tools are available
for the hobby. Choose from beginner tools or go
all out and get professional grade. Even after
you have found all of the fundamental tools that
you will absolutely need, you will continually
find something that you want just because it is
that cool. If you just want to get started
without having to think about all of the fly
tying tools and materials that are available,
simply get a starter kit to find out what you
like and do not like.
