Small Decorative Metal Pet Urns

By Melody Lyons

When your beloved dog or cat passes away, you miss them terrible and want to keep them close. Small decorative ceramic pet urns may be just the place to keep their ashes as a reminder of your good friend. Not everyone has a backyard to bury their fury friends in.

Many veterinarian offices offer cremation. If the animals were patients, there could be a discount for this service. The vet most likely does not do the actual cremation but works with a company that provides this service.

Most of the vets will make a house call if your animal is ill and a decision has been made to euthanize him. This is a humane way to help your dog or cat end their suffering. Many animal owners feel it is wrong to put an animal to sleep, however it is the most loving and humane thing an animal lover can do for their fury friend.

After you beloved dog or cat is either put to sleep or passes away of natural causes, you will want to make arrangements for the cremation. This can be done through your family vet. The veterinarian may also have a catalog with different containers your pet's ashes could be returned in.

Some of the containers for dog and cat ashes resemble cookie jars while others look like a traditional human's container for ashes. A tall thin one might be a good choice for a tall thin or slinky style cat. And a short square container would make a good choice for a final resting place for a short little dog. But the choice is always up to the animal owner.

Lovely pet urns for small animals make a wonderful final resting place. Dogs and cats will not be with us forever, as much as we want them to be. Giving them an everlasting place of dignity and beauty is one thing we can promise them.
