What All You Need To Completely Develop Your Fish Tank

By Julie Lowry

Enhancing your salt water fish tanks with stones and pieces of coral is imperative so as to help the fish feel at home. Some species will be tweaking the coral like what they do in the wild. Make sure you clean up all pieces when setting them into the tank to stop any bacteria getting into the water. If you are putting dead coral you could wash them in a bleaching liquid providing you clean them properly following that.

You can see if the bleach has been removed by the smell. Coral and rocks are necessary for some kinds of fish to feel safe and secure as they want to set their area and will get back to the same rock stone every night for stay. It also provides them someplace to hide until they get to know the other inhabitants in their new living space.

You may arrange for adding live coral into salt water fish tanks as a species in their own right. Do bear in mind that while they look beautiful, they won't survive for a long time if you have fish that feed on this coral.

Generally people will tell you not to keep algae in a fish tank but it is vital in salt water fish tanks. It is used to lower the nitrogenous waste amounts and also providing a source of food.

As with every aquarium, a new marine tank should be left to settle and grow before you put in the living occupants. You can speed up this process in a variety of different ways including introducing some base medium from an established marine aquarium. Don't be in too much of a rush though as you do not wish to waste your money getting fish only for them to be killed as their new home is not yet set.
