The Live Butterfly Garden

The Insect Lore Butterfly Garden is certainly an
superb invention. Kids absolutely love this and
the greatest part is it's educational as well.
My daughter has a fairly big thing for
butterflies so it had been something we were
compelled to get her for the spring. One bit of
advice, I probably would not buy this close to
the winter seasons as the caterpillars would
possibly not do so good and you really will not
be able to release the butterflies without
killing them. Now, summer and spring is the
perfect instance to get this though.

The Live Butterfly Garden contains 5
caterpillars and the perfect amount of food. The
caterpillars love this food, I know a friend that
attempted to provide them real food, leaves, and
they would not touch it so just stick to what
you receive in the set and you'll be good to go.
The Caterpillars will go to the chrysalides step
and after that develop into exquisite
butterflies, all in around 3 weeks or so and
it's pretty astounding to observe.

This is really easy to do and my 4 1/2 year old
was able to perform almost the whole thing
herself. When the butterflies come out from
their cocoons we kept them for a couple of days
and released them. We planted plenty of
butterfly plants at our house so they stuck
around for a bit. We also got lucky because the
butterflies laid some eggs and we now have a few
baby caterpillars that we are feeding and raising
so with any luck they are going to go through all
the phases once more and we can have a bunch of
butterflies for our garden all summer long.

The Insect lore butterfly garden was a cool
experience. Your youngsters are going to
absolutely love this and to be honest, numerous
adults will get a kick out of it too. This was
one of those things I had a fantastic time doing
along with my daughter and she not only learned
tons about butterflies but, she remembers what
she learned. The hands on portion of it made the
whole thing truly stick with her and she still
can tell you rather a lot about the life cycle
of a butterfly, it's pretty impressive to say
the least.
