By Shari Swanson

To improve the general health and nutrition of canine companions, an individual should consider making homemade organic dog treats. By properly following a given recipe, a person can come up with a meal easily. One should however be careful with the instructions that are given.

A simple recipe to try out has been discussed here. To start with, a person will need a number of things. It is important to have them in place before starting. The reason for this is to ensure that time is saved. One can also avoid the confusion brought about by running around looking for other ingredients. This may make one end up forgetting some necessities and hence come up with some undesirable results.

One will need to get water equivalent to one and a half cups, a quarter cup filled with vegetable oil, one kilogram of wheat flour some peanut butter and a quarter cup of apple sauce. Other choices could be used in place of the apple sauce. All these are easily available from grocery store.

The kitchen should then be organized. This may be by getting rid of all the equipments that are not going to be of help. One should only have in place those things that will be necessary in making this preparation. The equipments to use can also be cleaned so as to ensure that they are ready. All along, the oven should be heating up to around 400 degrees.

The liquid ingredients will need to be combined in a bowl. This can be done by placing them in turn as they are mixed. It should be stirred until it produces a smooth mixture. After turning into dough, it can then be cut into the desirable shapes and placed in an appropriate pan before being placed into the oven to bake.

After about twenty minutes, the oven could be switched off. The homemade organic dog treats should be left for an additional hour so that it can be hard and crisp. Once done, an airtight container can be used as storage and the pet fed in bits until they are over.
