The Top 10 Small Non Shedding Dogs

Are you looking to buy a small non shedding dog?
The good news is you don't have to look hard
because by their very nature most dogs that are
low or no-shedding are small. The following are
the best ten small non shedding dogs.

1. The Yorkie (officially known as the Yorkshire
Terrier) is one of the most popular breeds in the
world. They're also one of the smallest, and they
don't shed. Despite its name it actually is a
member of the toy breed category though it does
maintain many terrier instincts. It's a good
choice if small is all you want, but not always
the best with kids or other pets.

2. The Shih Tzu is a highly popular dog that
also sheds very little. They are quite small in
size as well and weigh between 5 and 7
kilograms. They are a Chinese breed with a
typically gentle temperament. They usually can
get along well with other pets and children.

3. One of the most popular non shedding breeds
is the Poodle, but if you're looking for a small
dog you're able to get it in a Miniature or Toy
variety. These largely possess the same
characteristics as the larger original, except
they are much smaller in size. They need plenty
of grooming and mental challenges due to their
high intelligence.

4. The Maltese is another highly popular little
dog that doesn't shed. Despite its small size,
it is known to be quite fearless but other than
that has a fairly easygoing nature. It might not
always be the best choice for kids seeing as it
is quite small and fragile.

5. The Lhasa Apso has a long coat that make it
instantly recognizable. It is an ancient breed
that served as a watchdog in Tibetan
monasteries. Now it is more popular as a small
and non-shedding companion breed.

6. The Bichon Frise is a toy dog with a lovable
nature. Like the Poodle they require plenty of
grooming attention due to their curly coat. They
are typically happy and outgoing and can make a
good companion for other animals.

7. One other popular breed is the Miniature
Schnauzer - in fact, it's actually the most
popular in the terrier breed category. Due to
its rough coat it sheds very little an unlike
most terriers it has a quite friendly and
accommodating nature.

8. The West Highland Terrier is similar to the
Miniature Schnauzer in that it's a highly
popular small terrier breed that generally has a
more pleasant personality. It also has a rough
coat that doesn't shed much.

9. Another small a lovable breed is the
Havanese. These are highly intelligent dogs that
are recognized as the national dog of Cuba. Their
coat can require a bit of maintenance but doesn't
shed much.

10. The Italian Greyhound is a small version of
their larger cousin, though may be a bit too
small as it is known to be quite fragile. Its
non shedding coat requires little maintenance
but if you get this breed you should enjoy
running, as this dog likes a lot of exercise.
