Easy Dog Training Tips That You Can Do On Your Own
Dogs can be fun to be with. They love to run
around, sniff on everything, and barks on anyone
who they think are threats to them and to their
owners. There will come a time that they will
not follow some of your orders or would pose as
a threat to your other pets or your family
members. You will then soon realize that their
behavior needs to be modified. Proper dog
training is the key for this. There are tips
that you already know but finding the right one
that will suit the breed, personality and their
capabilities needs research.
The most important tip is to reinforce positive
techniques during the training. This means that
there should be no spanking, hitting, use of
harsh words, or any form of punishment. Dogs are
like humans who cannot change their personalities
if pain will be inflicted on them. Assaulting
them may turn them to be aggressive. They would
prefer to receive rewards when they do something
right or when they follow your orders. This will
encourage them to do better. Although there will
be times that you will be confuse on when to
reprimand them or when to reward them. Just give
it time for them and also you to learn. Patience
is the primary tool to make follow and trust
you.
Try to act consistently when you are with your
pet during the dog training. This goes the same
with the other people who live with you. Inform
them that this is essential so as not to confuse
the dogs for you might reprimand when they will
not follow you but someone will cuddle or give
them a treat. This can be confusing which will
slow down their progress.
Get to know your dog before you train them
particularly on how he acts when he is with you.
Some can be easily distracted whenever they see
other canines. Teach then on how to focus
especially on what you tell them. If your pup
gets uneasy with other people, train them
somewhere where it is quiet but familiar to
them. The placer should have a few people only
so as not to disturb their focus on you. Once
they know how to act when they are with their
kind and other people, change gradually the
location until you will find a place where there
a lot of distraction. You can then test them by
giving them commands amidst the distraction
around them. Assess if they follow your
instructions and still focuses their attention
on you.
Another useful tip that you should consider is
to use a leash during dog training. This is
helpful in making them give you their attention.
This is also one way of teaching them on how to
respect you so that they will eventually obey
you at all times.
