Siberian Husky and German Shepherd mix are known to have optimum liveliness. They always want to keep themselves busy thus demanding each owner to be active as well. Having this type of dog will compel you to have a fair enough size of yard where they can roam around and play. You can also put up some puppy ramps and slides for your pet to further enhance their intelligence as well as to cater to their innate activeness.

For these outdoor loving types, a yard of a fair size is a must This will serve as their playground and as their guard post. Another thing to remember about German Shepherd and Siberian Husky mix is that they have a soft spot for digging. So for those who maintain landscapes, ensure to provide them a fenced "personal space" to protect your lawns from being spoiled. They are great for those who live an extra active lifestyle. Because of their size, you might think that they are not fit as family pets. But it has been proven that they can be left alone with two year old kids.

At two years, these canines can weigh within the range of 65 to 70 pounds. They are comparatively large dogs with soft, smooth furs. As to their attitude, they tend to be very good-natured and obedient. There are times that these puppies tend to be perceived as wild due to being energetic. It is desirable that German Shepherd with long hairs should be shaved in the summer to keep their bodies cooler.

The major risk in terms of disease is the Valley fever that should be treated with a proper antifungal medication. This is prevalent among dogs who like to dig for fun. The dogs are very witty and can learn various tricks thereby making them interesting companions.

Siberian Huskies and German Shepherds are cold weather canines. Hence, the mixture of these breeds does not make them apt to warm weathered areas. Huskies and shepherds have five and four layers of coats respectively making them at risk during summers. They too need a lot of exercise, so it would be best to expose them outdoors on their fifth week. Let them run around but make sure not to leave them alone.

They are also famous to be fond of peanut butter, cream cheese, bone and milk and are easy to feed. But food choices still vary in accordance with the pup so make sure to get what suits and makes them happy the most.

To boost your dog's mental abilities, you might consider keeping some treats on different parts of the house. German Shepherds are usually red, brown, black or green, thus mixing them with huskies provides a different shade. Both of these canine types have spots on eyes and head. This is also apparent among cross-breds. Their hair texture usually differs as huskies have silky coats while shepherds are of bristly hair. Mixing these two types often yield to varied colors, based on what is prevalent among the dogs. You can also get light eyes and bowed tail from the husky. Personality traits such as being a good runner from the husky and the shepherd's loyalty makes these two a near perfect mix.

Puppies who tend not to eat particularly during summers implies that it might have worms. As for Siberian Huskies, they naturally eat less as compared to other breeds because of having slow metabolism.
