Toy Australian Shepherd is a smaller type than the standard Australian Shepherd. These smaller puppies have all the traits and characteristics of the larger ones but they are receive the favor of being popular pets in a widely existing suburban areas. However, they may be small but they are mostly active and intelligent.

They cannot let themselves sleep all day leaving their master all alone. They usually want to be with you most of the time enjoying by exercising and other jolly activities that can happen especially in the park. You have finally decided to take him but before doing so, you have to check some qualities of just the right one.

You have finally decided to get one. In having one of course, you have to go the breeder and check them one by one. But, before doing so or before gaining your assurance of a good quality puppy, you have to consider several points. You would not want to have a puppy that is opposite of what you are expecting.

The main trait to consider is the energy level. It must go with your level as well. He must not be more active or more lazy than you are to balance everything. There should not be character mismatched. The good thing to do to identify this trait is to confirm it with the breeder. They know mostly their puppies so they can surely give you advice.

Consider as well their structures. A good brand must be proportionally balanced in terms of its skeletal framework and muscle. It must be simply smaller in size compared to the standard breed but it should not possess to much of their like a toy features such as having a very domed head, bulging eyes and very fine bones.

You of course want them to cheerful and alert all the time as can really be your source of energy for the day as well. Any signs of rude characters must not be tolerated. They must not be very aggressive than their master. Being shy must not also be their trait because it can give you boredom and annoyance.

Check it their ears are triangular in shape and folded. Ears of this breed should not be floppy hound or pricked as this might be the fault of some breeding techniques among them. Their jaws must not be undershot or overshot. Their coats must be not too long or the other way around as this is not suited for them.

When talking about their color. Well, there are a lot of color variations among these puppies. They come mostly in solid black and red or both and other markings but not a full white fur. However, avoid those puppies that are bred improperly as you might be experiencing a problem later on. They are found out to be suffering from some genetic disorders.

So, do not be fooled by breeders who claim that they are rare and special toy Australian Shepherd. Lastly is their nose. Their nose should not have any pigment as this can be a bad indication. It will be highly susceptible to sunburn and skin cancer. Ideally, they should not posses a pink spot that is larger than one fourth of the entire area.
