Could Pet Reincarnation Be Possible
There are world religions that revere animals, from the Hindu reverence for cows to the ancient Egyptians who considered cats to be royalty. Although this is true, some people consider animals to be nothing more than a food source. Could pet reincarnation be a possibility or not.
Some African tribes have a general belief in animals having more than one life. Death is not considered the end but the beginning of a new existence. It is thought that the dead live in an invisible place close to the living on earth.
The ancient Egyptians prepared for the next life by constructing pyramids filled with all the necessities to live that next life. Buddhists have a concept of soul that has people returning to earth in a process called rebirth.
The Zulu people in Africa believe a soul is born into an insect or rodent. It moves up the line after each death, reincarnating into a higher life form until finally, it enters a human baby. Following that, there are many additional lives to be lived.
In Hinduism and Buddhism there is karmic rebirth. Everything a person does is noted in a process called karma. If a person is good at the time of death, he is born into the next life as someone good. If a person is bad, he is born into the next life in animal form.
It is natural for people to feel love for their pets. There are numerous pet loss support groups, much like the ones for people who lose a loved family member. A number of members related stories of a pet being reincarnated into another pet. They see the same characteristics their previous pet had.
It is the belief of the Inuit people that each animal, pet or otherwise, has a soul. When they kill an animal for food, they perform rituals to move the soul of that animal into the next incarnation. They believe that the animal will be reborn as another animal, never progressing to a human form.
To a Native American, animals have spirits that are divine life sources. They are a part of the great Creator. The animal spirit moves in a circle of life, being reborn again and again. The tribes believe that a prayer must be offered for the soul of an animal when it is killed.
Men and dogs grow attached to each other in a special way. A dog loves his owner and never judges him. If a loved dog could be returned, the owner would be happy. There are more people in the world who believe in reincarnation and subsequent lives than do not.
Pet reincarnation is no less a possibility than human reincarnation. Every culture has its own set of beliefs. If it comforts the pet owner who has lost their dog or cat, why scoff at it. It is not something anyone can either prove or disprove and a great many people believe that it is real.
