Small And Adorable Toy Husky

By Enid Hinton

A smaller version of the Alaskan Husky is called the Alaskan Klee Kai. It looks just as a miniature version of Siberian Husky, and it comes in three size categories, standard, miniature and toy. Toy Husky is the smallest of all, with its height under thirteen inches and its weight under ten pounds.

The breed was developed in the seventies, cross-breeding American Eskimo, Alaskan and Siberian Huskies. These beautiful little dogs are small enough to live in an apartment, but still quite similar to their larger relatives. This means they are full of energy and require regular long walks to remain healthy and happy. If you cannot fit this long walk in your schedule, this might not be the right dog for you.

This breed sheds averagely and requires regular brushing and combing. Just like its larger relatives, Toy has very thick, double coat, what makes it resistant to lower temperatures. Higher temperatures are something this dog won't appreciate so much. Although it will lose its undercoat during the shedding season, your puppy shouldn't be exposed to very high temperatures, if you can avoid it.

These little adorable dogs are so playful and funny, really intelligent and energetic. They can be loud and enjoy chewing things. They get bored easily and you should give them something to play with. The best way for protecting your furniture is to supply them with chewing things regularly. Make sure these toys are small enough for them, but not too small to be easily swallowed.

Dogs normally live in packs, and need a pack leader. Toys, like most other small breeds, might develop a small dog syndrome. You can easily avoid this if you become a pack leader right away. Be really gentle, but consistent. Some things are allowed, and some aren't. Stick to your decisions, even when you find it quite difficult, considering how adorable your new little puppy is.

Always buy your dog from really respectable breeder only. These dogs are healthy, already socialized at some point, vaccinated and clean. This breeder can also give you various advices about grooming your new puppy, about the best food and other valuable advices. If this is your first dog, you will find most of these advices more than useful. There is always something new you can learn.

Find a good vet and take your dog there for regular check-ups. Consult your vet about grooming, feeding and nourishing your furry friend, about vaccination, appropriate vitamins and minerals and all other important things. Your new family member deserves to be loved and pampered. This furry ball will be your loyal and devoted companion in years to come, and deserves only the best.

Dogs are simply the best. This lovely little thing is adorable, friendly and funny, loyal and affectionate, and needs your love and care. If you live in a house with a small yard, your dog will appreciate spending time outside, playing and running. But, if you live in an apartment, make sure to take it for a walk every single day. This little thing has so much energy to spend, and walks will be great for you both.
