By Kimberly Jackson

Taking your dog out for adventurous activities can be an exciting venture especially when it is disciplined. Touring mountainous regions becomes easy when you have a bike. Your dog becomes strong and healthy due to the regular exercise. In fact, this reduces the rate of it contracting disease and lowers expenses spent on medication. Mountain dog training becomes exciting when a bike is used and all the trails are mastered. You need to start on small distances before embarking on the long journeys.

Just like human beings, dogs have a desire to connect with nature. Therefore, make sure your buddy accompanies you in all your adventurous activities. It is important to begin the training when it is still young. A puppy will master tricks faster than a mature dog. You need to be careful during the coaching to eliminate instances of interfering with the general health. For the puppies to cover a long distance, they must have at least reached eight months. Taking them for short hikes in the hood is recommended.

Begin the coaching in a forested area that has many obvious trails. Make sure your buddy is close to you during the entire riding process when a bike is utilized. Take it to a mountainous area once trailing in obvious paths is mastered. At times, the dog may be lost in the woods, hence, having verbal cue that you can use to address your buddy is paramount.

Make a point of training the companion animal to drink using the hydration pack. It may take time before it masters how to drink from the can, but you should not give up. Ensure the dog is always hydrated to keep it healthy during the sunny days. Allow it to recharge when there is stream near the training region. Sometimes, giving it time to relax during the hot days is paramount. Before embarking on the coaching process, make sure your buddy appear healthy and has the right mood. When symptoms of being tired are identified, give it time to relax.

In case you are using a bike for the couching, you may use a leach to make sure the canine follows closely during the entire journey. The leash must be long enough to avoid instances of injuring it when it comes near the wheel. Start slow until you gain stability. Tying the leash on the backpack is a trick of eliminating falls when it pulls you backwards.

Voice commands should be responded to effectively. This is the only way of ensuring safety of your dog. You can also find it with ease in case you lose track during the trailing process. The canine must be trained to remain focused.

Longer distances may expose the canine to many injuries especially in the feet region. You can opt to purchase ruff boots for it. Carefully observe the moods and health standards of the canine on daily basis before the couching commences.

Do not expect to see results instantly. You will need to be patient. Take the pet for assessment after every session of training. This is the best method of identifying diseases at an early stage and dealing with it accordingly.
