When you're teaching your dog tricks or commands and he does them, you know what to reward him right? Dog treats. Dog treats are one of the pet's essential things to use when teaching dogs tricks. Why? Because dogs are taught at an early age or at their current age that they have something to look forward to if they can learn the trick. There are other reasons but that's really the main purpose. There's something about being able to teach your dog how to sit like a human being that will really have you getting treats for him or her.

Contrary to popular belief, chocolates won't kill dogs. You can actually give dogs a small amount of chocolate. But not so fast. Keep the previous sentence in mind: small amount. There's a toxic ingredient in chocolate that can be harmful for a dog. If you give him a bucket, he'll be going bananas. But if you give just a small amount, it's fine. Let's hope it doesn't happen to your dog; some dogs have died due to chocolate poisoning. This is related to no.1. While it's not bad feeding dogs chocolate at small amounts, there's a small chance the chocolate you'll give will kill the dog.

If you really can't resist giving your dog chocolates on the day of Valentines' it's best if you give them just small amounts. Maybe just a little piece of Hershey's or a handful of M&M's will do. Just always make sure it's small and keep them that way. So, should you or should you not buy chocolates? It depends. But the best advice is either you don't buy them or buy them but only in small quantities. You can show your love to your dog in many ways but when it comes down to buying chocolate for them to show love, take precautions and show them love in another, un-harmful way.

Know the dog's history, eliminate the dog foods that contain the bad ingredients and choose the right kind of dog food and in no time, your dog will be healthy all year round.
