All of us who keep pets do so for many reasons. Some do so get rid of other pests, to run errands and also to keep them company. The most popular pets kept by man are parrots, fish, snakes, dogs, cats, and many others. The most unique thing about pets is their ability to keep friendship unlike people. Most pet owners grow attached to these creatures because of their ability to be loyal. Examples of loyal friends are the newfie puppies.

In ancient Canada, somewhere around 1600, the pet was discovered. They were found in a place called Newfoundland within the country. It is described as a rare kind of breed because it is a mixture of the Viking dogs and the mastiffs from Portuguese. In the beginning, people from that area were not allowed to keep more than one dog in their homes. This resulted in their low numbers. In the long run, people were allowed to export them to most countries within Europe. This is made them become more popular.

These puppies fall in the rare breed category because of the physical anatomy. They are a bit shorter than all the others described by a height of 56-76 cm. An average animal weighs between 50-69 kg but sometimes the weight may go up to 90kg. In addition, they have a broad head, small eyes, and triangular ears. The fur on their body is quite enormous and is similar to those of cats.

Once upon a time, the puppies rescued a great leader in modern history. There was a time when Napoleon Bonaparte was running away from his enemy called Elba. In addition, they also took part in moving fishing nets and saving soldiers who were in danger. Therefore, they are credited with this useful function of being loyal.

This is the kind of pet anyone would to keep judging by their friendly nature. Also, they keep other animals as friends. However, they can sometimes get aggressive if they feel agitated. It is advisable to monitor them closely as they are bound to get temperamental should they be subjected to any kind of discomfort.

Their ability to swim also makes them quite reliable when it comes to sea rescue missions. The fur on their body enables them to thrive under cold temperatures. They do not do well in areas of hot climate. It is advisable to keep them outdoors because it is conducive for them.

There are a number of conditions that a person needs to fulfill before they can get ownership of the pets. First, they need to ensure that they make thorough research on the kind of requirements that need to be fulfilled first. The medical aspect is not negotiable in this case because routine checkup is mandatory. It is only fully grown puppies that are allowed to be ferried to their would-be owners.

Those who have these puppies in their categories can confess that the cost of keeping them is not a walk in the park. One needs to take into account the kind of surrounding that they are in. In other words, they only thrive well in places that are cool. Regular bathing and combing is also necessary to untangle the hair. If they are well fed and cared for, they can live up to fifteen years.
