Know The Facts Before Purchasing Cavachons For Sale

By Janet Morgan

Getting a new pet can be a very exciting time, but it is not something that should be taken lightly. It is important to make sure that the animal is a good match for one's lifestyle and personality. There are things that should be taken into account when considering purchasing Cavachons for sale.

Sometimes a person becomes so excited over the idea of getting a new pet that they think about nothing else but how it looks. Appearance is a large part of the appeal, but other factors such as the animal's health concerns, grooming needs, temperament, and size, will also impact the successful integration of the pup into one's life. Things tend to go much smoother when one knows what to expect.

The breeding of a dogs from two different purebred breeds to produce puppies with the most prized characteristics of each is how designer breeds are created. Because the best of these pups are of first generation litters, they can be challenging to obtain. It should be known that many national kennel clubs consider these pups to be a mixed breed and will not allow them to compete in major categories.

Potential owners of designer dogs should also understand that the standards for these breeds are not as set as with purebreds. In most cases, the puppies will get the most prominent traits of each parent, though these results are not consistently true. This is why breeders tend to recommend first generation pups because this is how the most desired offspring are produced.

One pure Bichon Frise and a purebred Cavalier King Charles spaniel are what is needed to create a Cavachon. Mixing two Toy breeds means that the pups they produce will only grow to a maximum height of about 15" and weight around just twenty pounds in adulthood. Being this tiny makes them cute and appealing, particularly to apartment dwellers or those with little space.

A Cavachon's coat is normally silky, soft, and slightly wavy, though it is not uncommon for it to turn out curly and thick. Regardless of texture, the fur is categorized as hypoallergenic because after they shed their puppy fur, the dogs rarely shed and have almost no dander. For individuals who do not like dog hair around the house or who suffer allergies, this trait can be quite appealing.

These pups are well known for their loving nature and high levels of energy. They make wonderful companions because they eagerly give and receive affection, though early socialization is a must to achieve controlled behaviors. While they will bark when strangers are present, they should not be used at watchdogs because they make new friends very easily.

Interested owners should fully understand that adopting one of these dogs is a a true commitment as their average lifespan is around fifteen to twenty years. Aside from common small breed issues like heart murmurs, they tend to have great health. With love and proper care, it is possible for them to live out long, happy, active lives.
