By Joshua Ward

No matter how much adorable your furry friend is or how much you love having him around, that should not mean you must ignore the pet odor that comes with him. Leave a professional deal with your best friend needs, call pet sitter Huntersville NC.

The smell that comes from the animal friends can sometimes be so nauseating. They can be from the poo that they stepped on or rolled over whilst playing on the lawn or driveway. Or worse it can be the wet-dog smell from the carpet because Rex came straight from the swimming pool and layed down on the carpet or couch.

There are various smell neutralizers that are normally be used in households. You find yourself in a situation whereby you are so broke but you still have to eliminate the bad scents. This is because these neutralizers are generally expensive. Thus, there are homemade remedies that can do the job as good as the in-store smell neutralizers.

Because of its chemical composition, baking soda does a very good job of neutralizing smells. It has always been used to clean refrigerators and basins to eliminate the strong smell and bad fungi. Likewise, it can be used on your furry friends to get rid of all the smell they have. The application method is not complicated at all. You must just sprinkle or apply the baking soda by hand on the dog or cat, whoever your furry friend is. The same can be done on furniture or surfaces that are affected. Generously apply or sprinkles the powder and leave it for a few hours to absorb the smell.

After generously applying the powder on him, you can then rub it into its fur. This is to ensure that his skin is also cleaned. After a few hours or when you no longer smell anything foul, you can go ahead and wipe all surface of the powder and vacuum the couch or carpet. The furry friend should be shampooed preferably with something that smells nice and blow-dries him. This way, your house will be left smelling fresh once again

The old but effective way to get rid of bad smell in the house is the use of vinegar. Simply dilute a bit of vinegar with water in a ratio of 1:1. It is recommended to always make that dilution because vinegar has a strong scent and it can also be damaging or staining to surfaces if applied undiluted. When cleaning hard surfaces like the carpet, always use it with the carpet cleaner.

Vinegar can also be sprayed on affected hidden area and surfaces. Even though it would be hard to wipe or clean the hidden areas afterward, rather have the smell of vinegar in the house than that of your furry friend. Be not be alarmed by the strong smell that will arise and cover the room soon after spraying. It will soon subside and leave the room with a fresh scent.

Mixing vinegar and a detergent is also a great remedy for eliminating strong smells. Add 2 scoops of detergent to a gallon of vinegar and stir very well until the detergent dissolves. Spray the dog or cat together with affected surfaces. In this case, the vinegar will eliminate the smell whilst the detergent penetrates the dirt hence leaving the house squeaky clean and free of smell.
