This Is What Should Be Considered When Buying Australian Labradoodles

By Susan Fisher

People who love dogs usually have hard time deciding what breed to keep. This is because each breed has its own positives and negatives. Australian Labradoodles shed little hair, and are intelligent which means they are quick learners. They are also affectionate and kind to people as well as other pets. They are playful and when like participating in canine sports. These are some of the reasons which make them a good choice for new owners.

Dogs have their negatives and their positives, some of the negatives about the labradoodle are as explained below. Just like any other animal and human beings the labradoodles have a risk of suffering from hereditary diseases, thus making them require high medical attention. They are mischievous in nature due to their high level of intelligence. They require high cost of maintenance.

History has it that labradoodles emerged in mid 1950s as a result of cross breeding a Labrador retriever with a miniature or standard poodle. Back then they were not as popular as they are today because few people knew about them. Today almost everybody knows about them because they are considered designer dogs. They were first meant to be assistance dogs but currently they serve more purpose.

Labradoodles are of different heights, colors and sizes. It is quite normal for pups in the same litter to look different, although they tend to inherit looks, characteristics, and traits of their parents. However, how a puppy turns out depends on several factors. The factors include training, generation and which parent breeds them.

Dog training is a necessity that labradoodles should not be exempted from. Training is necessary to enable them fit in family settings. They must be trained to avoid excessive barking. To achieve this, the training must be started when they are still young. The trainer must ensure that the dog understands that unnecessary barking in not tolerated. Their understanding of this command is much better when they are still young compared to when they are older.

Due to their friendly nature labradooldes are not the best watch dogs and owners should not be fully dependent on them providing security. They will tend to give an alarm that a stranger is about to or has just entered the premise. Once the stranger has become familiar with the dog and that the dog has become social they will not give any further alarm.

Caring for a puppy is pretty easy provided a person knows what should be done. When getting a puppy ensure there is someone around for it due during the first week of arrival. This is to prevent them from feeling alone and bewildered after leaving their littermates and mothers. Ensure the transition is smooth and easier for them to cope with.

A person should always strive to obtain all necessary information and try and clear all the doubt they have concerning the puppy. The buyer should strive to see the puppy before they purchase them. They should also try and see the mother physically together with the puppy and not to be shown photos as proof. Be careful not to be scammed because scammers do not give buyers the necessary information to help in making the decision.
