By Michelle Martin

Dog breeds are numerous such that it is difficult to decide on what breed is best for you. Litters are also several and buyers are having problems deciding which is right to purchase. Many might underrate the task of buying, but it often requires one to check out some aspects. If you are looking for Cavapoo puppies, do not buy from a store but instead get from a professional breeder. Here is a guide to help you in the process of buying.

Different breeds have different health related problems. Most of these diseases are passed on from one generation to another. So, if parents of a pup have hip or heart problems, if the disease is genetic, it will affect even the puppy. That is why is advisable that you go to those litters with parents that have a clean bill of health. The proof for this is certification. If parents are not certified, you will be taking a huge risk to buy those pups.

Ask to meet with the parents after confirming they are certified. The interaction with the dogs will allow you an opportunity to study their characters. The traits of the parents will be like those of the poodles. Check the size of the dogs to get an idea of how big your puppy will grow. Get the size that you will be comfortable with.

After the pups have been born, many of them have worms and as they grow they get exposed to various infections. Check whether the breeder has been taking care of these puppies by deworming them regularly and giving them vaccines when it is appropriate. Because some might be tempted to lie, request to see documentation of various vaccines and treatment.

Request to know if any of the puppies has been sick recently. If so, ask about the signs, diagnosis, and treatment. Because doodles can easily contract diseases, have an expert pay them routine checks so that they can stay healthy. One might also want to know if the pups they are purchasing is under medication so that they can ask for advice whether to continue the medication or not.

Moreover, find out if the person provides a guarantee and if yes, in what form. You will not be sure of the health of the pooch you are purchasing. So, inquire in advance whether the person provides guarantee or warranty so that if you find the pup with a terminal disease, then you can return or be compensated. Now the terms of guarantee first.

A good breeder will also be willing to provide you with customer testimonials. It is a sign they have nothing to hide and they are proud of their work. Contacts of previous clients will help you get information about the owner of the litter. If the customers look satisfied, then the breeder is reputable.

Finally, professional breeders must have an interest in dogs and should know the breed line of the poodles they are selling. The information will be helpful especially if you want to know what will happen to the Cavapoo pup you purchase as it gets older.
