Working With A Standard Poodle Breeder

By Jerry Burns

People are not alone in the world. That does not mean that there are aliens, thought it likely that there are, nor does it mean that there are ghosts, though it is possible that there are. No, people are not alone in the sense that there are animals that share the planet with them. Many of these animals are just chattel, raised so as to be eaten later. But sometimes, these animals can mean more. Sometimes they can be companions and partners. The animals that fall into the latter category are dogs, since they are among the smartest animals in the world. As such, it can be important to find a standard poodle breeder.

There are number of reasons that people own dogs. The first is they provide companionship, it is very hard to be alone when there is a dog in the house. Another is that they have displayed a wide variety of uses. Dogs have shown that they more than capable of tracking human beings, sniffing out illegal contraband, and even taking down hostiles and protecting their humans.

Show dogs are pretty. They are like body builders, all their athleticism is for form as opposed to function. Poodles are seen as a show dog, but that is far from the truth. They were originally retrievers, which means that they would often accompany and assist hunters whose main game were fowls and ducks.

Poodles are medium sized. This means that they can weigh up to 70 pounds in males and 60 pounds in females. They are also over 15 inches tall.

They need to be exercised. If not, this can manifest in them acting out. The fact is that almost every working breed will not be content to just sit around and do nothing. They need the stimulation that comes with exercise.

Goods and services never come for free. When dealing with a breeder, the goods in question are puppies, and those puppies are not going to come cheap. This is because they are supposed to be the pinnacles of their respective breeds, the very best of what the breed has to offer. So they are going to cost more than just adopting a dog at a local shelter.

But they can have health concerns. Given the relatively limited gene pool that breeder will use, some of their animals can end up inbred and with a host of health problems. So it is important to check that each and every animal has been vetted before making a purchase.

There is one harsh truth about an animal shelter. If the creatures held there do not get adopted, then they will be put down. It is a sad reality that many potential pets languish in cages because people are too busy shopping for the perfect pet.

The thing about pets is that they are wonderful. They are family in almost every sense of the world. There are ways to acquire them, some with fewer consequences than others.
