Synopsis

This is a true story.... taken from Love Me Love My Dog. (names & scenarios modified, but similar results.... )

From something as unlikely as a dog obedience class, conducted by Love Me Love My Dog (a match making agency, and run by a dog trainer) .... from complete strangers, these two singles are now couples .... all because of their love and interest for dogs.

Brief Intro....

This is the story about Peter (31) who loves outdoor, outgoing, chatty and bold. While Jane (27) is the shy type, quite and reserve. Peter owns a computer shop, while Jane is a Bank Officer. He has a large German Shepherd, while she has a small Shih Tzu.

How It All Began....

Jane signed up for the Dog Obedience class because she wanted to meet more friends, especially like minded folks who love pets like her.... besides, she wanted to teach her dog Apple new tricks ..... Jane is the type that has a soft spot, especially for people who likes pets and treat them well ..... "My future partner must be someone who loves dogs"

As for Peter, his main intention of signing up, was to train his dog Token obedience and to meet more friends who love pets.... and also to meet a possible future partner is permitted....

On a clear Sunday morning... as Peter and Jane were running after their doggies, under the hot sun ..... trying to follow the trainer's instruction, ..... they suddenly noticed one another....

It was Peter who spotted Jane first..... " it was Jane's demure elegance that got his attention ... For Jane, it was the way how Peter handled his dog - gentle yet firm and loving that caught her attention.

Peter immediately summon Token, to go over and greet Jane. Peter knew that, if he didn't find a way to get to know her, she would waltz out his life forever...... Not that Jane minded at all because, she too signed up, hoping to meet a future partner. However, what drew Jane interested to Peter was the fact that, Peter was not afraid to show affection to his dog in the public. He even brought along water and dogie treat.

Bonding and Romancing Through Their Dogs

Since Peter and Jane had an interest in common, that is their love for dogs, they hit it off instantly. Within minutes, they were engrossed in conversation about their pets, the trials and tribulations of pet ownership, etc...

As the dog obedience class was held over a few weeks, with one class per- weekend, the pair got a chance to meet regularly.... and before the course ends, they had already exchanged phone numbers.

Jane would call Peter and chat whenever she had a problem with her dog. There was really a reason to communicate.... Without this common interest, there was no reason really to call one another up.

Within six weeks, the pair had became a firm pair. "It was a natural progression and the pressure of going to dates was lifted as they had to attend the class together anyway....

And now... after more than 8 months of walking their dogs together every weekend, the couple have decided to get married ......

• Summary...

• This is indeed a novel match making method. However, the couple were glad to give it a try. This is because, had they meet at other social occation, they may have not known how to approach one another, as they were so different in charater, interest, etc.

• Furthermore, in our ever growing busy schedule, where there are more and more workaholics ... and diversity, the chances of meeting by chance is very slim.

• In short, ... having a dog as a pet really can help singles to meet their future partners ... as shown in this story...... "dogs will always be a part of pet lovers lives .... it will will just not be the same without them ... Having pets around lightens the mood and atmosphere.... they really do bring additional dimention in our interaction wiht one another ....

• Lastly, I just wish that Kuching has special parks for us dog lovers to walk our pets !
