Chihuahua Puppies - How To Train Your Chihuahua

By James Baldwin

In Vancouver, Chihuahuas are popular. The little dogs are everywhere. Perhaps you have one or are thinking about getting one. What about training it? Likelihood is that you live in a tiny loft in Kits or Yale city. Regardless of how little it is; it still needs to be well behaved. Well, are training Chihuahuas easy? They are very unique dogs for sure! But is training them any different than say a German shepherd? Not really.

Chihuahuas are still dogs and so they still follow "dog" rules. If you've got any experiences with dogs - and regardless of whether you don't! - You may do nicely. You can correct their behavior very simply by just following a few straightforward tips.

All dogs automatically think that they are a part of a pack of dogs, exactly like in the wild before they were trained. Chihuahuas aren't different. This is true whether they are the sole dog for miles around. It's hard-wired into their behavior. And every pack has a top dog, the person who controls the remainder of the pack. By outlining who the top dog is; the rest of the dog's falls into line. Without an obviously outlined top dog, the other dogs will become worried. By understanding this, then you will know who should be the top dog. You!

Try it. Next time you eat; don't feed your Chihuahua if he wants something. Eat your food first. Then feed your Chihuahua. Let him eat. Then, take the food away after five mins.

This can let your Chihuahua know that you control the food and that you are the top dog. Another thing you can try is to not fuss over your dog when you come back home. Top dogs do not do that. Let your dog you are home and let him welcome you. But do not fuss. This also will reinforce you are the top dog.

With obviously outlined rules of who is top dog - you - your small Chihuahua will fall into line and behave. So that you can take him or her for walks in Kerri dale in Vancouver or on the seawall and keep he or she in your house and everything will be fine! While there are dog training services in Vancouver, like convincing K9 or Bark busters, you can teach yourself - for faster and less expensive results!
