Article From SubmitYOURArticle.com: How to Keep Your Dog Cool in Your BMW
All responsible dog owners know the dangers of
leaving a dog in a hot car. Whilst doing so must
be avoided at all costs, it is not such an easy
problem to solve whilst actually driving with
your dog in the car.
In years gone by, the only option was to drive
with windows open so that man's best friend
wouldn't overheat. This isn't so necessary now
as most modern BMWs are equipped with air
conditioning, making the journey much more safe
and comfortable for our pets.
However, the bright sunshine still causes a
certain amount of discomfort and heat inside the
car that we don't wish to inflict upon our small
passengers. If you drive a BMW, there is now a
solution to this in the form of sun blinds.
There are generally two different types of sun
blinds that can be fitted to a BMW. Firstly,
there is the original BMW blinds. Often, these
are ordered as an optional extra when the car is
new. They consist of roller blinds fitted to the
rear doors, quarter light and rear wind screen.
The rear blind may sometimes be electrically
operated. The blinds are very impressive and
effective but they are very expensive and can be
prone to breakages.
A new and much more cost effective alternative
for BMW blinds is quality aftermarket fixed
blinds for all windows from the B pillar
backwards. These blinds are made to a quality
specification by a manufacturer that also makes
them as original equipment accessories for some
car manufacturers. Rather than the roller blind
design, the blinds come as a single piece for
each window and fit in place using using
specially designed clips to hold them on to the
area around the window. There is no drilling or
screws required and a full set of blinds can be
fitted in less than an hour without tools or any
specialist knowledge or expertise. After the
initial installation, the blinds can be removed
and refitted in seconds.
The blinds provide increased protection and
comfort for your dog by reducing the amount of
sun light that comes into the car whilst still
keeping outwards visibility to an acceptable
level . Should your BMW not have air
conditioning, then you can still open the window
for some fresh air and the blind will remain in
place because it it attached to the window frame
and not the glass itself.
Other benefits are that they look stylish are are
very much in keeping with the upmarket image of
BMWs. Security and privacy is also increased
because it makes it very difficult for those
outside to see inside. This allows items to be
left inside with increased peace of mind when it
isn't possible to store them away in the boot or
luggage area.
The blinds area available for a much wider range
of modern BMW models than those from BMW as well
as a large range of non BMWs too. Once fitted,
you can go on those long journeys safe in the
knowledge that your dog will be much happier and
comfortable than before.
