Dog Kennels For Your Travel Needs

Pet owners must make arrangements for their pets
before they can go on vacation, for the sake of
their pets. Obviously, vacationers can plan to
leave their pets with a close relative or
neighbor for the duration of their getaway and
some even opt to bring their pet with them on
vacation, though this may not be especially
cost-effective. Vacationers who choose to bring
their pets with them must also face the fact
that most hotels do not allow pets along and the
ones that do may not be all that spectacular. A
kennel is the best option for those who cannot
leave a pet with a close relative or neighbor.
Dog boarding centers can offer amenities for
pets that relatives or neighbors may not be able
to provide. A dog boarding facility may be the
best overall option for any pet-owning
vacationer.

Kennels have exploded in recent years, so it
should not be too difficult to find one that is
conveniently located. Sometimes called "pet
hotels," dog owners can leave their best friends
in good hands for the entire length of their
vacation at such places. Employees should
generally take dogs out at least three times a
day, if not more. Often, a kennel will provide
the option for a dog to have a play break to
socialize with other dogs although, obviously,
this is not a requirement for dogs that are not
fond of socializing.

There are kennels of all sorts, upscale pet
hotels are slowly gaining in popularity, and are
posh places for your dog to enjoy all the
comforts of home. If you do not feel that your
dog needs to be spoilt or will even care where
he stays while you are gone, then the average
kennel that is clean, ventilated and
well-maintained by quality employees is also an
excellent option.

Before leaving for vacation, check out the
kennel facilities in your area. If you find that
they keep animals in too tight of quarters for
your liking, perhaps a pet hotel is the better
option for your dog. Such facilities provide
animals with enough space to suit their needs,
as well as a comfortable bed to luxuriate in
until your return. Some pets may need the extra
stimulation a pet hotel can provide, and some
may find it soothing to have a home away from
home.

Such luxury kennels may not even be very
expensive with prices ranging between $30 and
$80 a night. On top of offering top-notch
amenities for your pet, such kennels may also
provide grooming services. Over-the-top canine
hotels can be found in New York City, where the
Ritzy Canine Carriage House offers suites at a
rate of $175 a night. This canine version of the
Ritz will even massage your pet, for a rate of
$60 an hour. Your dog will miss you while you
are gone, no matter where you leave him. But
that does not mean he has to suffer outside of
missing you and be sure to leave your dog at a
suitable kennel where he will be as comfortable
as possible.
