Understanding Newfie Puppies Breed Before Buying

By Angela Thomas

Being a pet owner can be a very rewarding experience. If you are living alone, then you will suddenly find yourself looking forward to going home every day. If it is a dog you are going home to, it can be very rewarding, because, well there is some truth to them being a best friend.

They take up a lot of time and your energy too. Sure, the likes of newfie puppies may look so adorable at the pet store, but if you work almost twenty four hours a day, they may not be ideal for you. Because they are still young, this breed can also require the most work, when it comes to training them.

There are things that you have to consider, prior to getting them from the pet shop. For one, they can be big and bulky, and will be taking up so much room in your house and even in your car, when your dog insists on following you anywhere. Aside from that, it is also heavy, weighing up to one hundred and fifty pounds.

Most of the time, people make the mistake of buying a pet, attracted primarily by their appearance. This should not be the case. Sure they are adorable and so damn cute that the first one you see will make you want to pick it up immediately, especially when it looks at you with those round, black, really nice eyes.

How you take care of it when it was still a pup would not be any different with how well you care for it when it becomes an adult. In fact, this is when your pet will need a good amount of food that is controlled. Do not let him eat just any dog food. It must be quality stuff only, not junk, because it gets really sensitive and may result to getting sick.

It is a large breed and rightfully so. That is what you should take note of. That is also what people notice about it. It can stand up to twenty eight inches tall at the shoulder and weigh up to one hundred and fifty pounds. If you like order and no chaos, you do not want this puppy. They have a drooling nature.

Their jowls can be very droopy that they tend top have saliva hanging from their mouths every time. If this is not something you can live with, then forget about the newfie. The reason why you most probably would want to pick them among many others at the pet store is because of their gentle and soft expression.

By exposing it, you are giving your pet a chance to experience many different situations. It will then learn to accept and tolerate any kind of situation, with any type of animals and people. Thus, it gives you more time, because you do not have to fuss over it being with others, or getting in trouble with other pets.

Remember to also let it sleep next to you when it is still little. Yes, they need that too, as babies does. Because the puppy is technically still a baby. You need to give as much time and care as you can. Even in training, it will come running to you, as it considers no other pack leader. Getting a newfie can seem so simple and fun. But not when you do not want to be dedicated to it, as how it can get dedicated to you.
